" I was not permitted to visit my brother before he died of brain cancer 4 years ago. "

My mother converted when I was 2, my father is an atheist. They nearly divorced, but did not and they are both still alive and married. I started questioning at about 15, and left when I was 24. Because my dad is not JW, I was allowed to communicate for 10 years.

Then my mom, brother and 2 sisters put their foot down and it has been 25 years of no contact with them, with a couple of exceptions to appease my dad. I was not permitted to visit my brother before he died of brain cancer 4 years ago. I have an amazing husband and life, but there is a lot of pain (and therapy) left over.

After 35 years of freedom, I still find myself with deprogramming on certain things. Thank you for the work you are doing!
